Second Course on Human Rights and Humanitarian Action at International Borders
General Objective:
Strengthen the knowledge and capacity of border officers and officials with public
security tasks of the RCM countries in the protection of the human rights of people in
mobility at the borders and in responding to the protection needs of migrants and
refugees, and in the fight against trafficking and smuggling of migrants
Specific Objetives
- Strengthen the knowledge and capacity of border officers and public security officials on
international regulations on human rights, refugees, trafficking and smuggling of migrants,
allowing them to identify, prevent and adequately address violations of migrants' and refugees' rights , as well as events related to transnational crimes. - Promote inter-institutional collaboration and cooperation, as well as the exchange of information between different government institutions and civil society organizations, in order
to improve the response to the protection needs of people on the move and effectively combat migrant smuggling and human trafficking.
